How it works
Grapes & Paints, established in 2012, is known for being the first social BYOB painting studio in Johnson County. The business offers a unique experience where people can gather to express creativity while enjoying their favorite beverages. The studio hosts private parties every day of the week, depending on availability, and runs public paint nights every Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Participants are provided with all necessary materials, including canvases, acrylic paints, brushes, smocks, glassware, and bottled water. The sessions are led by enthusiastic local artists who guide participants in recreating a featured artwork.
The environment at Grapes & Paints is relaxed and welcoming, more like an art party than a traditional art class. It's a place where groups of novice painters can come together to enjoy creating "fun art" rather than fine art. Guests are encouraged to bring their own appetizers and drinks to enhance the experience. This makes it an ideal setting for various gatherings such as work-related events, date nights, birthday celebrations, or a night out with friends. The combination of social interaction and creativity provides a refreshing option for colleagues looking to bond outside of the usual work environment.

Our Review
Updated
Our first impression of Grapes & Paints is that it offers a refreshing twist on the traditional team-building activity by combining creativity with social interaction. This art school provides a relaxed and welcoming environment where teams can unwind and express themselves through painting, all while enjoying their favorite beverages. The BYOB aspect adds a personal touch, allowing participants to tailor the experience to their preferences. The enthusiastic guidance from local artists ensures that even those with no prior painting experience can participate fully and enjoyably.
One thing to keep in mind is that Grapes & Paints might be particularly well-suited for creative teams or those looking to explore new ways of collaboration. It's an excellent choice for small to medium-sized groups who thrive in informal settings and are open to engaging in activities outside their usual analytical or structured tasks. However, for larger groups or teams seeking more structured team-building exercises with specific outcomes, this activity might not fully meet their needs. Overall, Grapes & Paints provides an enjoyable platform for fostering camaraderie and sparking creativity among colleagues in a laid-back atmosphere.
