How it works

Teams are welcomed into a hands-on needle felting workshop led by a friendly teaching artist from Pop Up Art School. After a brief introduction, participants try a craft most have never experienced, transforming fluffy wool into a soft animal or flat design using a special barbed needle. Beginner-friendly and engaging, the rhythmic process is calming, meditative, and surprisingly stress-relieving. Pop Up Art School is fully mobile, providing all materials, setup, and cleanup. Workshops are customizable for group size and goals, offering individual or collaborative projects, including seasonal, whimsical, wildlife, or custom logo designs.

  1. Welcome and introduction
    10 minutes
    Introduction to instructor and overview of needle felting basics.
  2. Start poking!
    75 minutes
    Each step of the project will be first be shown using a video or slideshow. The instructor will go to each table to demo the step and make sure everyone is comfortable with the process.
  3. Picture time
    5 minutes
    Photos of every project will be taken and compiled into a Google photo album. Let us know if you want photos of the team proudly displaying their creations.

You should know

  • When you reserve a room for the event, please plan for 45 minutes of setup time before the event begins, and 30 minutes of cleanup time at the conclusion. Ideally, we will access your AV system so we can display the steps with a video or slideshow. If an AV system is unavailable, we can teach the project without the media. We will bring a device and HDMI cord. After the event, we will send you a Google photo album with pictures.
